A Smile Makeover Is Not a Procedure

A smile makeover is not a procedure. It’s a plan.

The phrase covers everything from brightening a few teeth to rebuilding an entire smile. That range is exactly why a makeover should never start with a package, a preset number of veneers, or a photo of someone else’s teeth.

It starts with your face.

Depending on what you actually need, the plan might include whitening, bonding, veneers, gum contouring, orthodontics, or replacing dental work that has aged out. Sometimes it’s one thing. Sometimes it’s several, done in a specific order.

Here’s what I tell every patient: more treatment is not better treatment. The right plan is the least invasive way to get you there.

“Dentistry fails patients when we treat a single problem and try to be heroes.”

I say that in every course I teach, and it applies to patients too. Fixing one tooth in isolation, or chasing one complaint without looking at the whole picture, is how smiles end up looking like a collection of repairs.

And the real payoff isn’t the teeth. The amazing part is the facial difference we can create by putting teeth in the right position — the way it changes how light hits your face, how your lips sit, how you carry yourself.

That’s what a makeover is. Not a menu. A design.

I see cosmetic patients in Beverly Hills and New York. If you’ve been thinking about your smile, come in and let’s look at it together.
