People ask me this as if there is a correct answer.
Before a wedding? After forty? Once the kids are older?
There isn’t a perfect age or a perfect season for veneers. But there are signals, and most people already know them.
If you are thinking about veneers in Beverly Hills, you have probably been thinking about it for a while. Here is what I would listen for.
You edit yourself out of photos
You smile with your lips closed. You pick the angle. You delete the candid one before anyone sees it.
That is often the clearest signal. Not because you need to change anything, but because part of you has already decided something isn’t right.
Your teeth are straight, and it still isn’t finished
You may have done everything you were told. Years of aligners. Retainers every night.
And you still look in the mirror and feel that something is missing.
Straight is not the same as finished. Shape, proportion and color are a separate conversation from alignment.
Your life changed and your smile didn’t
A new chapter. A new role. More time on camera. A milestone birthday.
Sometimes the reason is simply that you want the person in the mirror to match the person you have become.
You, but better. Not someone else.
And if you are wondering whether you have missed your window, I have written about why it is not too late for your teeth.
When it’s not the right time
I will tell you this too. If you are deciding because of a trend, or because someone else wants it for you, wait.
If your gums or your health need attention, I will tell you that first. A smile is only as good as what it sits on.
If you have a date in mind
A wedding. A launch. A reunion. Tell me at the consultation.
Veneers are not made in a day. In my process, you leave prep day in temporaries and live in them for two weeks. Before you leave that day, we review color, shape and proportion together, and I adjust until you sign off. Only then do the records go to our in-house lab, and the final porcelain goes in on insert day.
That preview is the point. I would rather plan around your date than rush the part that makes the smile yours. It is also why I don’t do same-day veneers.
Being ready includes the after
Veneers are an investment in your face. They deserve a maintenance schedule.
A few days after insert day, our hygienist sees you. After that, I want to see you quarterly, and at minimum once a year.
If that feels right to you, that is another kind of readiness.
What the first step actually is
The first step is not a commitment. It is a ninety-minute consultation.
We talk about your dental history, your medical history, the mouth you have and the one you want. I examine your teeth, gums and bite. We take x-rays, scans and photos.
You leave with an honest answer about what is possible, what isn’t and what I would actually recommend. Then you decide when.

The takeaway
The right time is when you are doing it for yourself and you are ready to do it properly.
I see patients in Beverly Hills and New York.

Common questions
What is the best age for veneers?
There is no single best age. What matters is the health of your teeth and gums, your bite and a reason that is your own.
Should I wait to get veneers?
Wait if the decision is driven by a trend or by someone else, or if your gums or health need attention first. A consultation tells you where you stand.
How far ahead should I plan veneers before an event?
Tell me your date at the consultation. In my process, you wear temporaries for two weeks after prep day before the final porcelain goes in, and I do not want to rush that preview.
What happens at a veneer consultation in Beverly Hills?
